Meet Us at PDAC Convention 2025

One of the most important global issues today is the supply of metals and minerals. Sweden has over a thousand years of mining experience, a consequence of its favorable geological conditions. Combined with well-developed infrastructure, a stable democracy, and a strong ability to provide prospectors and mining companies with excellent services — including access to geological data such as maps, drill cores, and other documentation — Sweden offers an attractive environment for investment and exploration.

– SGU’s participation in the PDAC Convention is highly important, as the mining industry is global. SGU is the government agency responsible for mineral-related matters in Sweden, and Sweden is one of the leading mining countries within the European Union. During PDAC, we will present Sweden’s geological potential, including critical and strategic raw materials, SGU’s mapping programmes, legal information on permitting procedures, and perhaps most importantly, how to access and utilise our digital data and physical archives at the Mineral Resources Information Office, says Therese Bejgarn, Head of the Mineral Information and Mining Industry Division at SGU.

During the PDAC Convention, SGU is, together with its Nordic peers NGU and GTK, organising the Nordic Mining Day event on 2 March, where the Nordic countries invite participants to gather information and engage in dialogue about conditions in the Nordic region, with a focus on geology, new discoveries, opportunities, and legislation. Ambassador of Sweden to Canada, Signe Burgstaller, and Simon Westberg, State Secretary of Sweden, are among the speakers at Nordic Mining Day.
