Mining Maps
SGU provides a large number of scanned mining maps via the Geolagret service. These come from both historical mines and modern ones.
In the GeoLagret, the mining maps are scanned and metadata-seted, they contain maps of mines in Sweden. The mine maps are continuously replenished with more documents as they are digitized. Mines and mining fields without map material lack a link to map documents but are still presented in the search results. Some mines and mining fields have additional documents that are presented side by side with the mining map. The mine maps are also searchable via geographical search.
The purpose of digitization is to make the material accessible to all and at the same time to preserve the original maps in their current condition.
