GeoRegister

From this page you can search SGU’s GeoRegister, a reference database on the geology of Sweden, which includes references to both published and unpublished documents.

GeoRegister currently contains references to around 40,000 documents relating to the country’s geology – some 60% of them unpublished and 40% published. Some 2,000 new documents are added every year. The database includes details of most of the roughly 2,000 published and 4,000 unpublished documents produced by SGU, and of the approximately 4,500 papers published in GFF, the journal of the Geological Society of Sweden. Almost all of the unpublished mineral exploration reports from the last four decades are also referred to. In addition, references can be found to the majority of groundwater reports produced in Sweden, and to sand, gravel and rock material surveys and other reports.

In the longer term, GeoRegister is to be developed into a full-text database, primarily for new unpublished material.

Some tips when using GeoRegister:

• GeoRegister is a Swedish database and therefore only Swedish words can be used for subject or keyword searches. However, it is also possible to search for words occurring in English titles, and in abstracts in English, which some of the references include.
• For search tips: click on “Help” from any of the search pages.
• The location of an unpublished document is indicated under the heading “Archive address” in the search results.
• The publisher of a published document can be found under the heading “Other bibliographic information” in the search results.
