Maps and publications

SGU’s surveys are reported and documented in point databases, map databases, plot-on-demand maps, printed maps and descriptions, as well as maps and descriptions on CD-ROM.

The maps present information about bedrock, Quaternary deposits, groundwater, geophysical and geochemical conditions and mineral deposits in Sweden’s land areas and continental shelf. The level of detail and content of the maps are adapted to different user groups and purposes. The scales most commonly used are 1:50,000, 1:100,000 and 1:250,000. Larger scales are also used. The descriptions included with the maps give more detailed documentation about the geoscientific aspects in a map area.

Apart from maps and descriptions SGU also publishes scientific papers, reports on the results of various projects, studies and commissions, brochures and information material. In the menu on the left you will find a link to a presentation of our series and other published material.
