Corresponding Members are active contributors to the goals and terms of reference of the Commission and are a primary conduit for the dissemination of Commission aims and objectives in their country and/or region. It is an aim of the Commission to have at least one active and dedicated Corresponding Member in every nation.
Each Corresponding Member takes the initiative to provide the Secretary General regularly with information on the state of the environment in their country and/or on progress made in the field of geosciences for environmental planning and management.
Corresponding Membership is on a personal basis only and is free of charge. Corresponding Members receive the COGEOENVIRONMENT Newsletter twice a year and are required to provide the Newsletter Editor with contributions at least once in two years.
Any person wishing to become a Corresponding Member should submit a letter of application for membership including CV to the Secretary General. It is also possible to complete this application form:
Organisations such as; Geological Surveys, Ministries, Universities, Laboratories, oil and mining companies, consultants, etc. that support, and wish to contribute to, the goals and ambitions of the Commission, can do so by becoming a Supporting Member of COGEOENVIRONMENT.
Supporting Member receive the Newsletter and all other publications made by, or through, the Commission.
Supporting Members have access to the Commission database and might (upon request) be permitted to use the Commission's logo for their conferences, their pamphlets, etc.
The annual fee for Supporting Members is US$1000 for organisations in developed countries and US$500 for organisations in developing countries.
Corporate Members provide financial support to further the aims of COGEOENVIRONMENT but do not participate directly in the Commission activities.
Corporate Members receive the Newsletter and some selected publications.
Corporate Membership can be on a personal (US$25 per year) or an institutional (US$50 per year) basis.
As a non-profit organisation COGEOENVIRONMENT actively seeks Supporting and Corporate Members to allow continuation of activities.
