REGIONAL GEOLOGY (G – 20.02) "Permo-Carboniferous to Early Jurassic, Karoo Supergroup of eastern Gondwana" during the 32nd IGC supported by COGEOENVIRONMENT & Geological Society Africa
The main focus of the symposium is the evolution of eastern Gondwana during the deposition and sedimentation of the Karoo Supergroup from Late Carboniferous to Early Jurassic. Presentations are invited which include topics on tectonics, sedimentologic, paleaogeographic, paleoclimatic, paleontologic, palynology, economic potential (coal, hydrocarbons and other resources), etc. Techniques in the study of the Karoo sediments such as use of seismic, remote sensing etc. are also encouraged. Abstracts are invited to be given orally or as poster by the senior author or designated presenter. The period of abstract submission is from May 1st 2003 to JANUARY 10th 2004, i.e., THE DEAD LINE IS JANUARY 10th 2004
